Shearing photos at last…

Thanks to my wonderful photographer/writer/fiber fanatic extraordinaire, Adrianne Shtop, for allowing me to use her fabulous photos.  Here are some images from last weekends shearing extravaganza.

Tallulah in full fleece

Varitek before shearing

Tallulah getting into position

Tallulah almost done

Seymour screaming his head off

Seymour in process, not a happy camper.

Flock of seagulls anyone?

The fiber, super soft and silky.

My first pass with the shearers, scary stuff.

Getting close to the ewe.

I love this shot, the ewe looks so relaxed.

That's lanolin on the blades, got to clean them every so often.

I did trim Seymour’s ’80’s hairdo so he doesn’t look quite so goofy now.  And now that it’s been almost a week since my shearing lesson, I can use my left arm again.  Shearing ain’t for sissies ya know 🙂
